Founded in London in 2009, Ed Cross Fine Art works with emerging and established artists from Africa, the Global South and their diasporas. Working from a premise of cooperation and curiosity, the gallery seeks to facilitate conversations between practitioners and international audiences for historically silenced voices, guided by artists themselves.
Founder Ed Cross established the gallery following a career spanning publishing and his own art practice. After becoming an avid collector of contemporary African art whilst living in Kenya and travelling the continent on business for twenty years, Ed Cross returned to the UK in 2009 with the mission to raise the profile of artists from Africa.
The offices of the nomadic gallery are based at Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA, and the gallery participates regularly in international fairs including 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair and London Art Fair.
