Following her highly successful London debut at London Art Fair in January Tiffany- Annabelle presents “100 ways she blooms” the latest iteration of her Women in Bloom series featuring 100 small mixed media works all created on C5 manilla envelopes.
The work exists as an installation and as a hundred small, beautifully framed ndividual works, sometines refrerred to as "love letters" by the artist, Each is created to be in an inspirational dialogue with whoever ends up living with and enjoying them. The series is rooted in the artist’s Nigerian heritage, depicting flora from her Isekiri homeland. It is also a proactive celebration of women following their dreams and fulfilling their destinies.
Tiffany-Annabelle combines the graphic quality of silk-screen printing, evoking figures from super -hero comics, with the spontaneous application of acrylic paint, charcoal and pastel to create imagery that is both distinctive, joyous and intriguing. Inscrutable screen printed nude figures are confidently ensconced in lush floral habitats. Figures that own their settings in a way that empowers the viewer.
This new chapter of the series features for the first time, a number of male/female couples - where the male figure is an empowering but not dominating figure echoing Olivia Dean’s hit song “Be the man I need”.
